There are a lot of exciting volunteer positions to be a part of the Carolina Rollergirls show!

Referees!
Refs must be proficient skaters, as they will be following us on the inside of the derby track, each monitoring either a team’s jammer or pack.

To facilitate their duties, our refs must attend at least 2-3 Sunday practices a month so you can be comfortable with the rules, making calls, skating and knowing the players.

We use:

• Two point referees – to track the points each team’s jammer scores
• Two penalty referees – call fouls, penalties, etc. for all skaters
• Head referee – to make final calls, monitor time, starts, etc.

Pre-Bout Volunteers

• Graphic Designers – help produce programs, posters, logos, lots of FUN stuff for your portfolio!
• Seamstresses – sometimes, we fight just a little too hard…help us repair those damaged uniforms and make’em purty – or punk rock, depending on the gal... make banners, other fun stuff

Roadies
Before the show

• Set up track, chairs, scaffolding
• Assemble stage area for bands
• Hang banners
• Set up track and lighting
• Help set up score board/video
• Play parking attendant

During the show

• Clear track area
• Keep audience behind safety lines
• Clean up spills & sweep our burning rubber
• Help fallen skaters out of the crowd & back into the game

After the show

• Tear down everything put up before the show (banners, chairs)
• Pick up trash
• Clean floor

The Production Crew

• Ticket takers
• Merch vendors
• Score/stats keeper (requires 2 Sunday practices a month)

Certified EMT Medics
