Training
Twenty Lap Time: 5:55 (I think)
Favorite Move: Taking someone out on the corners
Skating Since: Late 70s/early 80's, with cool red pom poms on my skates
Practices A Week: 2-3
Crosstraining: If I actually make the effort, it's step aerobics, yoga/pilates, and web surfing.
Derby Diary
Joined CRG: December 2006
Debut: Debutante Brawlers vs Cincinnati Rollergirls (April 2007)
Teams Played For: Debutante Brawlers (and White Lightning!)
Favorite Opponent: Cincinnati Rollergirls because it was my first
Favorite Location: Dorton Arena
Why I Became Involved: To actually do one of the many things I only used to think about doing, meet people outside of work, and get to know my city.
Why I Skate: Because jogging sucks and it's fun to fly!
Embarrasing Moment: Nothing too terrible that I'm aware of, except maybe putting my helmet on backwards from time to time. Luckily, I catch it before someone else does.
Favorite Fresh Meat Moment: Knocking Eris Discordia hard and precisely enough in practice to send her to the corner wall at the Skate Ranch.
Favorite Derby Memory: Going to see my first ever live bout as a fan, CRG vs Sin City, September 2006.
Likes: Good sportsmanship, amazing agility on wheels, great team and skater names that are better than mine
Dislikes: Girls who adopt a bad-ass image either just because it's derby and/or when they can't skate a lick, and trash-talking (just show me - your words do nothing)
Bad Habit: Doubting my abilities
Derby Heroes: Every girl that's put aside fear, complacency, and stereotypes to try out for the sport
Inspiration For Name: My favorite color + a little luck that can't hurt + I just plain dig the word
Food Before A Bout: Whatever doesn't make me feel like a slug
