Carolina Bootleggers (and the Debutante Brawlers)

Favorite Position
B2 so far...
Equipment
Skate: Ridell 265 Wickeds
Wheel: half Flat Outs and half Punishers
Socks: Pink ones! (And my white and pink ones to support breast cancer survivors.)
Gear I Can't Live Without: Tape for the leg that I broke.
Training
Twenty Lap Time: Best time is 5:26 (Thanks, Riva!)
Skating Since: 2008 with CRG. I transfered in from the Cape Fear Roller Girls. (Before that, I could even stand up on skates!)
Practices A Week: as many as possible!
Crosstraining: I used to love running, since the broken leg, I've learned to love plyometrics! (Not easy, but helps build strong bones!)
Derby Diary
Joined CRG: passed tryouts in January of '08
Debut: Against my old teammates, the Cape Fear Roller Girls as a Carolina Bootlegger in June 2009!
Teams Played For: Debutante Brawlers and the Carolina Bootleggers
Favorite Opponent: Of course, my old teammates, CFRGs! But Dominion was pretty great too!
Favorite Location: the Ranch or Dorton
Favorite Surface: anything but sport court
Why I Became Involved: I saw a program on the news in Wilmington and thought it looked fun. I had no idea what I was getting into!
Why I Skate: To get out the frustration of the day and to stay in shape - and the most obvious reason, because it's fun!
Embarrasing Moment: I've had lots of them. You don't want to go there. But if you have to, maybe my meltdown during level one assessments.
Favorite Fresh Meat Moment: The first scrimmage practice back after breaking my leg. Everyone told me to take it easy but then handed me the Jammer panty. I went up against Holly Wanna Crackya, got lead jammer, got my five points and called it off!
Favorite Derby Memory: Either my freshmeat moment as previously described, or... at ECE 2009 when Holly called off the jam and CRG All-Stars beat Boston by 1 point! Then we all bum-rushed her and knocked her over!
Dislikes: People that take training with the best for granted.
Bad Habit: Elbows, and being super hard on myself
Derby Heroes: Wow! Where to start? I have a lot, but the ones that taught me to even stand up on my skates were Dee Spies, Esoterica Cain, and the ref Waylan Honor. The CRGs as a whole - too many to name individually. They have ALL helped in one way or another. Ginger Snap, Teflon Donna are in there too.
Inspiration For Name: It took a lot of teamwork to come up with that one! But one of my old co-workers finally did it.
Food Before A Bout: Peanut butter, banana and honey sandwhich on wheat bread.
Theme Song: Hmmm...still workin' on that one. Maybe "Gunpowder and Lead" by Miranda Lambert
